Recipe - Cholesterol Bomb

[DISCLAIMER] Martin: You are not even invited to think of trying this. There's no way in hell that I'll take the blame of the reaction from you trying this ;) [/DISCLAIMER]

I'm sure that this dish is among the most unhealthy ones you can get your teeth into. But do you know what? I don't care - I like it ;)

This Saturday gone the company I work for threw its Summer Party. It was quite a cool event with a British Seaside theme. So there was rain. Lots of it. I had seen the prices for a pint of Guinness so I knew that I had to line my stomach properly if I were to survive the night without getting into too much trouble.

This dish is an old favourite of mine, that can be freestyled in any way you wish. I've had it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as a midnight snack. I think I created it out of necessity some time long ago in the past and it has been with me ever since.

Just don't eat it too often, I'm sure it will turn your arteries into concrete or some other consistency that they aren't supposed to be. ;)

Ingredients
1 tortilla
1 tin of Heinz Baked Beans
1 onion, chopped
Tabasco, to taste
Streaky bacon, cooked until crispy (although I used pancetta this time)
2 eggs, fried to your liking

Method
Line a deep plate with the tortilla.

Heat the beans with the raw onion and Tabasco until hot.

Fry the bacon until crispy.

Fry the eggs to your liking.

Pour the beans onto the tortilla, top with the bacon and eggs. Finish off with more Tabasco if wanted.

Enjoy!

  1. No problemo Mikey, as long as you use the Reduced Sugar and Salt Baked Beans, it'll be fine :-) There's no fried bread, so it's got to be good for you.

  3. My boyfriend would love this. Every now and then he does a proper English fry up for me so this would be right up his alley.

  4. A&B: As I see it, there's only one thing to do. Cook it for him. You can't really go wrong! ;)
